Owoce to owalne \u017co\u0142\u0119dzie na d\u0142ugich i cienkich szypu\u0142kach. Stanowi\u0105 pokarm dla wielu zwierz\u0105t. Pierwsze owocowanie tego gatunku nast\u0119puje po 50-60 latach. Tereny j\u0105 otaczaj\u0105ce ju\u017c od XVII\/XVIII w. nazywano \u201ePrzedmie\u015bciem krakowskim\u201d lub terenem \u201eNa Woli za klasztorem Bernardyn\u00f3w\u201d. Znajdowa\u0142y si\u0119 na nich niewielkie gospodarstwa w bezpo\u015brednim s\u0105siedztwie ciek\u00f3w wodnych. Zabytkowa zabudowa, z kt\u00f3r\u0105 kojarzona jest ulica, zacz\u0119\u0142a powstawa\u0107 w 2 po\u0142. XIX w. Najwa\u017cniejszymi obiektami architektonicznymi s\u0105: Pa\u0142ac Biskupi (1876) w stylu dworu polskiego, projektu J. Kwiatkowskiego dla rodziny Karpi\u0144skich, kamienice nr 5,8,10,12,13,14,15, altana ogrodowa przy nr 33 oraz budynek II Liceum Og\u00f3lnokszta\u0142c\u0105cego, niegdy\u015b CK II Gimnazjum Powiatowe w Rzeszowie (1904). Ze szko\u0142\u0105 zwi\u0105zane s\u0105 takie postaci jak p\u0142k. L. Lis-Kula i gen. W.\u00a0 Sikorski. Od 1997 u wlotu ulicy funkcjonuje presti\u017cowe \u00a0Liceum Og\u00f3lnokszta\u0142c\u0105ce imienia Jana Paw\u0142a II prowadzone przez siostry prezentki. Ulic\u0119 ks. Ja\u0142owego charakteryzuj\u0105 tak\u017ce dobrze zachowane pozosta\u0142o\u015bci po dawnych ogrodach oraz szpaler wysokich lip, ci\u0105gn\u0105cych si\u0119 po obu stronach ul. Od 1990 nosi imi\u0119 ks. J.
